13 Girls, One Life-Changing Retreat began as a dream written in a notebook: "What if we could gather a small circle of girls and give them space to breathe, be seen, and believe in themselves again?" From that simple sentence, this retreat was born. We intentionally limit the group to thirteen girls so that every name is known, every story is heard, and every voice has room.
Over the course of the retreat, the girls step away from daily pressures and step into an environment designed just for them. Mornings may begin with quiet reflection or journaling, followed by interactive sessions on identity, leadership, and purpose. They explore questions like, "Who am I when no one is watching?" and "What kind of leader do I want to be for my family, my school, and my community?"
Practical workshops help them build tools for life: healthy relationships, boundary setting, goal planning, and stress management. Through shared meals and group activities, the girls form a community of support that often continues long after the retreat ends. They laugh, cry, dance, and dream together, realizing they are not alone in the fears they carry or the hopes they hold.
Cultural storytelling, service-focused conversations, and global perspectives are woven throughout, reminding them that their lives are connected to girls in other countries who are also learning to lead. Mentors and facilitators model what it looks like to be strong, kind, and courageous women, inviting each girl to see a reflection of her own potential.
This retreat is sustained by sponsors who choose to invest in one girl, in retreat resources, or in the experience as a whole. Every contribution pays for tangible needs-like transportation, supplies, and program materials-and also for something less visible but equally powerful: the moment a girl looks in the mirror and says, often for the first time, "I believe in who I am becoming."
